If you plan to do cams or headwork or anything internal you would be better off with a Screamin Eagle or other tuner. They stay plugged into your bike and alter the programming on your ECM. If you plug the thing in and let it do what it does youll probably be okay. Where Ive seen problems is when people try to fine tune it themselves with no knowledge of what theyre doing. Since they stay plugged into your bike if it goes through some crazy rain storm it is possible that it can short out or something can screw up on the tuning side of things. Maybe thats where your dealership said theyve blown engines up. It does not stay plugged into your bike so no fear of rain getting in and messing up anything electrically.
